Creative Endeavors

Creative verbal, visual and tactile expression have always been a part of my being.  I cannot completely separate this from my professional life.  I wouldn’t want to because it makes me more of an holistic thinker in my approach solution-finding.  Besides, it makes me happy and that’s not a bad way to be.

  • I find that I enjoy photography since it satisfies the urge the hold a moment in your mind’s eye; the interplay between what you see and what the camera captures in the artificial click of a digital shutter.  I’ve had my Lumix with the Leica lens for a couple of years, yet I have still not plumbed the depths of its capabilities.  Its near-DSLR images still amaze me.You can find more of my photography on Flickr

  • It may come as a surprise that old-fashioned is new when it comes to knitting.  I belong to a social network designed for like-minded knitting and crochet aficionados called Ravelry and we are over 1.3 million strong.  You can’t peek inside because it is currently a walled garden.  I do share my work publicly through my website called Yarn Is My Métier.  I’ve even designed a half-dozen popular patterns that are available from the site.
  • Creative writing and poetry – especially haiku – offer other avenues to explore the interplay between language, rhythms, words and meaning.  I’ve been writing fiction and short stories since I was 8 years old.  So what have I been up to lately?  Check in at La Cabeza Grande’s Wordinghood to see what’s new.
